i recently got a 98 pontaic grand am for free from a friend as it has transmission problems. it ran find other then the throwout bearing noise from the transmission, gotta nights ago i was on way home from the store and i was running heating. i was pulling into the driveway when the heater stopped working but the engine kept running. i went to shut it off and start it again to see if heater would work but it would just start and die. this is happening alot now, starts and dies right away. i can sometimes catch the engine before it stalls by reving gas pedal during process of starting, not all the time but sometimes i get it and when i do the engine doesnt want to speed it. i mean it will speed up alittle but not alot for like 30 seconds, i was fulling the gas pedal and the rpms was staying at 1500rpm. any ideas to what this is. i read about the intrustment cluster problem but i havnt nor did the pervious owner change it. any help would be useful as its my only means of transportation
