Volkswagen is issuing a recall of certain 2011 Jetta TDI diesels due to an investigation by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA). Because of complaints from owners over a leaking fuel line. The line that leads to the number two cylinder injector can burst, possibly due to the TDI’s extreme high fuel pressure. The recall affects 2011 model year Jetta sedans and sportwagens using the 2.0 liter turbocharged common rail diesel.

So far, VW and the NHTSA have only received seven complaints from Jetta owners as well as one complaint from a Golf TDI owner. Mileage of the cars with the issue range from 2,500 to 7,700. The NHTSA is still in the middle of an open investigation so Volkswagen can determine exactly how many Jetta and possible Golf TDIs need to be recalled.
