Volkswagen is recalling 151,000 Tiguan SUVs in the United States to fix stalling problems, reports The Detroit News.

The automaker informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that some 2009-2014 models will be recalled because “gas bubbles may form in the fuel system when winterized fuel with high vapor pressures is used in warmer areas or months with higher ambient temperatures … deposits may collect and degrade the electrical current flow inside the in- tank fuel pump leading to reduced fuel pump performance and pressure,” the newspaper reports.

According to the company, “fuel pump may not be able to overcome the vapor pressure under low loads and can potentially result in a vehicle stall directly after engine start, increasing the risk of a crash.”

The software will be updated by dealers by August 19.
