At approximately 10:28 a.m. on April 5, the hearts of Toyota fans will be racing with anticipation and wonder. Two minutes from that time, the veil will be pulled off an all-new concept that should mark a new source of elegance and power. The global premiere will take place at the New York International Auto Show and be available to any member of the public via a variety of ways. Not only will the media be present at the Galleria room of the Jacob Javits Center, but a live-streaming video chat will be open before hand so questions can get answered. The vehicle’s designers will be on hand to receive the comments from Twitter and Facebook.
As of now, the only official words from Toyota are “Sedan”, “elegant” and “athletic”. Given that the Camry received a heavy re-do for 2012 and the Corrolla is more economy than powerful luxury, a bit of speculation can place a finger on what this car could be. Elegant is usually a word used to describe the automaker’s other division, Lexus, which makes us think the next Avalon is getting ready to be showcased. Given that Buick’s LeCrosse has been given new tricks as well as the Hyundai Azera’s redesign, the large sedan heavy weight might be ready for an update. Whether or not this is true can only be revealed through the course of time.
