Ferrari has released the first official photos of the limited-edition open-top LaFerrari. Yes, you’ve read that right, there’s now a LaFerrari roadster. This is the 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta. Really, though, it’s not a convertible. Instead, the roof is removable, giving the car a more sporting look and feel than a traditional convertible. While it might not be the most practical car in the world, seeing as both the hard and soft top are manually affixed to the car, and well, it also being a 950hp hypercar, I’m sure the clients will be happy with their purchase.
And yes, the car is already sold out, in case you were interested in snatching one up for yourself.
Besides the targa top, the changes made to this car over the “normal” LaFerrari are few. It has the same V12 engine and electric motor as the coupe, and supposedly the performance figures have stayed the same as well. The only significant changes have been made to the chassis. There’s a whole lot of stiffening added to keep the overall rigidity the same as the coupe version. Besides that, the car has been sculpted ever so slightly differently so that the aerodynamics line up with the coupe version as well. Now that they’ve made this, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ferrari has a few more super-limited-edition LaFerraris in the works. That’s just speculation, though, so don’t quote me on it, but the folks at the stables are certainly known for their crazy special editions.
