For a lot of people, thoughts of Moab usually include thoughts of the Jeep Wrangler. The SUV and the Utah destination go together like milk and cookies which is why the 2013 model year will celebrate both. Landing on showroom floors in October, the Wrangler Moab Special Edition will feature all the right gear to make participants of events such as the Moab Easter Jeep Safari very proud. According to Mike Manley, Jeep Brand CEO, the purpose build offroader “pays tribute to our most diehard Jeep enthusiasts and the off-road playground they love.”
Built off of the Sahara edition, the Moab will be available for both the two and four door Unlimited body styles. Added to the already capable platform are items such as 17 inch Rubicon alloy wheels, 245/75R17 Goodyear Silent Armor off-road tires with Kevlar reinforcement, Trac-Lok anti-spin differential, winch-ready steel bumpers, and premium rock rails. An optional electronic locking rear diff can be added and when equipped with the six speed manual and 3.73 final drive, the Wrangler Moab features a crawl ratio of 45:1.
Looking like an aftermarket modified mud slinger, the Moab should have no trouble dropping jaws at the trailhead. A unique Mopar power dome hood, black fuel filler door, tail lamp covers and fenders separate the special edition from the rest. Traversing the World’s toughest terrains doesn’t have to be bland and thus, the Moab’s insides are rightfully tweaked. Black stitching, new-for-2013 leather seats, Mopar slush mats, Iron grey trim pieces and “Moab” badges add to the experience.
