The Bullrun Rally is an annual road race across the nation that brings together the most unforgettable group of celebrities and characters. For this years run, among those will be professional racing driver Robby Gordon and the most powerful, factory Jeep ever made: the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8. With the majority of the entrants being supercars and exotic vehicles, the SRT will have some tough competition but then again, it is one tough Jeep.
Not available to the public until later this year, the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 uses Chrysler’s new 392 cubic inch, 6.4 liter Hemi V8. Producing a startling 470 horsepower and concrete wrinkling 465 lb-ft of torque, the SRT8 uses Jeep’s all wheel drive system to put its massive power down. It may be heavy, but its all independent suspension tuned by SRT will ensure that Robby Gordon will be able to hold his own amongst Porsches and Corvettes.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the capabilities of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO of Jeep. “With Robby Gordon pushing the limits, the world will see that the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 really is the ultimate performance SUV.”
The Bullrun rally will take place July 8th through July 15th and will run from Las Vegas to Miami.
