The automotive industry’s leading source for pricing, reviews and statistics, Kelly Blue Book, recently issued their annual resale value listings. For the 2012 iteration of the Best Resale Value Awards, Ford took home the top-ranking trophy with their biggest player. Beating all other full size pickup trucks was the F-Series Super Duty, which was honored due to its exceptional ability to hold closest to its original asking price over the course of five years. “The Ford Super Duty comes with two powerful engine choices, plenty of options, and interior choices that range from basic and easy-to-clean, to limousine-like decadence — making it what many consider the best full-size heavy duty pickup, and the best full-size pickup overall when it comes to resale value,” said the editors of kbb.com.

For the new model year, both V8 engine options have been given a boost in output. The base 6.2 liter gasoline block pumps out 385 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with the newly developed 6.7 liter diesel engine, a Super Duty driver gets 390 turbocharged horsepower and concrete rippling 735 lb-ft of torque. For the past few months, all F-Series pickups have been the best selling vehicle in the United States and the big-dog Super Dutys account for almost half of those sales.
