Currently plastered on front of Chrysler LLC’s main headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan is the most powerful Jeep available. Covering 10 stories of the building is a wrap with the Grand Cherokee SRT8 and the caption “Autobahned. 0-60 MPH in 4.8 Seconds.” The graphic itself is 116 feet wide and 145 feet tall and even the smallest feature, the Jeep’s fog lights, are six feet tall. A blatant show off by Chrysler, SRT and Mopar, the Grand Cherokee features a 470 horsepower 6.4 liter Hemi V8, all wheel drive and a 0-100-0 mph time of around 16 seconds. A top speed of 160 mph ensures that not too many sports cars can keep up with the SUV.
“The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 takes performance to a new level by combining the brand’s legendary capability and utility and merging it with the renowned advanced performance engineering from the company’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) team,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand. “This vehicle not only represents the newly formed SRT brand, but the hard work and determination given by the designers and engineers who continue to bring world-class performance, luxury and refinement to a vehicle that is fast and fun to drive.”
