The third member of the Sonata sedan family has officially been priced. For its 2012 model year, the 2012 Hybrid will get the new standard feature called Hyundai’s Blue Link telematics. The safety, service and telematics system uses voice activation to select multiple media applications. A full integration with a driver’s smartphone and or computing device can also be used as Hyundai wants the car to be seen as an extension of home and business life. It’s an innovative piece of technology that can be had for just $25,850.
The Sonata Hybrid’s standard technology doesn’t stop at the interior. Under the car’s fluid hood is a 2.4 liter inline four cylinder paired with Hybrid Blue Drive assist. A 270 volt lithium polymer battery powers the high-power density motor and puts a combined 206 horsepower to the ground via a six speed automatic transmission. Features such as XM radio, dual automatic climate control, remote keyless entry and a 4.2 inch hybrid drive display all come included with the car’s base MSRP. New for 2012 will be a $1,500 Leather Interior Package with heated front seats. For $5,500, the Ultimate Package includes the leather interior as well as 17 inch wheels, navigation system with touchscreen display, Infinity premium stereo and a rear back up camera.
