For the 2012 model year, Buick’s midsize premium sedan, the LaCrosse will be available with a very stout SAE-Certified 303 horsepower. What is even more impressive is that power will come from a direct injected 3.6 liter V6 with variable valve timing. That is a 23 horsepower increase from the 2011 model with no decrease in fuel mileage. EPA ratings for the 2012 LaCrosse are still 17 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway for the front wheel drive model and all wheel drive will be available.
“The changes we’ve made to the 3.6L V-6 represent greater refinements to an already well-balanced package,” said Tom Sutter, global V-6 chief engineer. “We are using the latest designs, lighter-weight components and enhancements to improve the engine’s performance, efficiency and durability.”
