Rolls Royce has announced the imminent end of the current Phantom Coupé and Phantom Drophead Coupé. To send the two icons on their way Rolls has dipped into their bag of bespoke tricks and drawn up a fifty-car special edition run for all to envy.
The old adage says, “You can’t take it with you.” The Phantom Zenith Collection proves that’s not always correct. Each one of these masterpieces built to mark the final days will feature a piece of the assembly line that put them together.
A special drawer located on the dashboard, below the radio, contains a polished aluminum case. Inside this case is a piece of the Rolls Goodwood factory’s Phantom assembly line. On the outside of the case is a gun-black placard – a finish more commonly seen on custom pistols and shotguns – engraved with the exact GPS coordinates of the assembly line artifact’s original location.
Other touches consist of, but are not limited to, such finery as a two-champagne-bottle refrigerator complete with eight custom Rolls Royce glasses, custom glass tailgate bar with padded seats for watching the polo game and special etched armrests commemorating the location of the worldwide introductions of each model’s concept predecessor.
Unfortunately, if you have enough to spend on one of these celebratory editions and didn’t get the memo about their production, you’ll have to wait for one to appear on the secondary market as all fifty cars are already spoken for.
