Recently AutoTalk got an exclusive invite to the Hyundai/Kia Proving Grounds in the Mojave Desert to meet with driving legend Rhys Millen in preparation for the June 26th Pikes Peak Hill Climb.
“Last year was a bit of a disapointment for the team with all the hype,” said Millen.
This year he expects a much different result with more time for prep and driving time. This Hyundai is powered by the Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 engine stroked to 4.1 giving it over 750HP and over 700lb-ft torque. This car is a force to be reckoned with this year, and both Millen and Hyundai are expecting a world record setting time up the infamous PPIR (Pikes Peak International Raceway) come late June.
When asked is the car ready Millen responded by saying, “Definitely not, but better than last year already and thats what this testing is for.”
