More than half a century ago, 13 zealous people banded together to create something truly special. Their marriage was created by a single love for a car that is now, one of the most iconic vehicles the world has ever known. In celebration of the 60th anniversary of both the Porsche Club Westfalen e. V. and Porsche Club Berlin e. V. car clubs, the German automaker will release another exclusive 911 which will be given the name, Club Coupe.
Looking remarkably similar to the Sport Classic that debuted in 2010, the Club Coupe rides on the recently released 2013 911 Carrera S chassis. Numerous but subtle exclusive bits have been added such as the Brewsters Green exterior color, special decals, unique 20 inch Sport Techno wheels and the drop-dead gorgeous Sport Design Package which adds the duck tail rear spoiler. To go along with the added pizzazz, the Club Coupe’s powerplant gets a boost as well via the Carrera S Powerkit package. Compared to the standard car, the exclusive 911 puts 30 extra horsepower down to the ground by way of hotter camshafts, ported cylinder heads, variable induction and a larger exhaust. Total output for the Club Coupe is 430 horsepower from its naturally aspirated 3.8 liter flat six. When fitted with the standard PDK transmission, 62 mph will show itself in just four seconds.
In memory of the orignal 13 who created the first 911 car clubs, Porsche will be releasing just 13 Club Coupes. Of those vehicles, just 12 will be offered for sale as one will join its siblings at the Porsche Club World museum. To make the exclusivity even more exclusive, only current Porsche Club members will be given the opportunity to purchase the $175,580 car via a lottery. Registration is open now and will run until June 16. Potential buyers should rest assured knowing that the Club Coupe will be offered in both seven speed dual clutch “PDK” automatic and seven speed manual transmission form. They should also rest assured knowing that their purchase will earn their driveway timeless respect.
