In today’s episode of super awesome things that Europe gets but the United States does not we have the Opel Astra OPC Extreme.
This radical three-door hatch will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, and Opel claims it will be the “fastest street-legal Astra ever.” Based on the Astra OPC that was released in 2012 the OPC Extreme will make use of the same 280 horsepower engine, but adds carbon fiber components to cut weight. The car is race-ready with an integrated safety cage, racing seats and six-point harnesses.
The OPC Extreme will an extremely limited run model, and Opel hopes it will see time being flogged around great racetracks like the Nurburgring. Apparently, the OPC Extreme, and every OPC Opel model sees extensive testing around the Nordschleife during development.
