The joint venture between Nissan Motor Company and Mitsubishi Motor Corporation established to build a new line of mini cars recently released a proper business plan. NMKV Co., Ltd. began operations June 1 and currently has 35 employees based in Takanawa, Minato Ward, Tokyo. Since more than a third of new car sales in Japan come from the minicar segment, the venture should allow both companies an opportunity to build revenue. It will allow for Nissan to continue to build and develop products and will give Mitsubishi the chance to grow by supplying highly-competitive products to its product line-up and by offering increased economies of scale advantages through Nissan’s purchasing capacity.
NMKV Co., Ltd is split 50/50 between the two companies.
