Nissan is offering consumers a glimpse of their future design language with the Resonance crossover concept. Nissan unveiled the concept vehicle at the North American International Auto Show, announcing that their designers sought to create a fusion of scientifically advanced materials that felt lightweight and airy, giving the allure of hypersonic travel.
The Resonance features a “floating” roof design with steeply raked A-pillars that connect the windshield to the full-length glass roof. A bold V-style design starting at the grille emblem sweeps back towards the windshield base.
The interior has an equally futuristic appearance with a dashboard that houses “graphically layered” displays within the infotainment and instrument cluster. Visual depth is used to separate information in order of importance.
Nissan says the Resonance pushes the drivetrain into the future as well. It features all-wheel-drive powered by a small-displacement engine, electric motor, and lithium-ion batteries. Power is routed through Nissan’s next-generation Xtronic CVT transmission.
