Nissan North America will be recalling a certain number of their sporting coupes due to a potentially faulty window switch controller. Both 2011 and 2012 model years of the Infiniti G37 Coupe and 2011 model year Nissan 370Zs built from July 2 through August 29, 2011 are affected. A programming error is to blame as the switch was not installed to the manufacture’s specifications. The timing of the window’s auto-reverse feature is flawed and could cause bodily harm if an occupant were to get caught in the window’s path.
So far, a total of 1,788 coupes are being recalled. Nissan will begin its notification process on or around November 28 of this year. If affected, a G37 Coupe and or 370Z owner can take their vehicle to a certified dealer where the entire window switch will be replaced. The remedy will happen at no extra cost to the vehicle owers.
