Nissan announced that global sales of its fully-electric Nissan Leaf have reached 50,000 units sold.
According to the company, the 50K milestone makes Nissan Leaf “the best-selling electric vehicle of all time.”
The Nissan Leaf was launched in late 2010. The company sold 7,000 cars in 17 European countries.
The owners of Nissan Leaf around the world have covered more than 260 million kilometers (km), and a Japanese customer covered more than 175,000 km. One Nissan Leaf driver in Spain has clocked up over 43,000 kilometers in one year.
Earlier 2013, Nissan announced an 18% drop in Nissan Leaf price in the U.S.
