As car companies the world over post their March sales figures, one company stands out. Nissan North America reported their best sales month ever, with a total of 137,726 units sold.
Nissan Division also posted record numbers with the highest volume month ever at 126,623 units. Infiniti grew as well, although not at the same rate, with a 9 percent increase in sales over March 2012.
Leading the way in sales was the Altima, with 37,763 cars sold. The Versa was the next best seller at 15,917 cars sold followed by the Sentra with 13,965 sold. The LEAF saw the biggest percentage increase over March 2012. Selling just 579 LEAFs in 2012, sales grew 286 percent when 2,236 LEAFs were sold in March 2013.
Considering the LEAF is an all-electric vehicle in a world ran by gasoline, two thousand-plus sales in one month seems like a great accomplishment.
