The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is currently in the middle of a full-blown investigation into two completely different vehicles for different problems. The 2007 to 2008 Nissan Altima is being looked into for a loss in stopping power due to a faulty brake master cylinder. For different reasons, the 2007 to 2008 model year Jeep Wrangler is being investigated because of complaints over malfunctioning air bags.

The Altima’s problem comes from the brake master cylinder. The NHTSA said the brake master cylinder can leak internally, causing a warning light to illuminate. If the light is ignored, the cars could eventually lose braking power. 20 some complaints are the cause for the investigation into about 440,00 Altimas.

The cause for the Wrangler’s issue is a faulty electrical circuit that can cause the driver’s side air bag to fail to deploy. The investigation will cover about 222,000 model Wranglers due to 29 complaints. 14 of those 29 Wranglers were right-hand-drive postal models however but that isn’t stopping a full on investigation by the NHTSA and Chrysler LLC.
