The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received complaints about Ford Motor’s Focus Electric compact car, reports The Detroit News.
The agency has received a total of 11 complaints. Consumers claim that Focus Electric compact car shuts down while driving. The cars — from model years 2012 and 2013 — allegedly stalled while traveling at varying speeds. All reported incidents have happened during the past five months, according to the news report.
No accident was reported as a result of this problem. According to Ford, it is cooperating with NHTSA’s investigation.
The automaker has sold nearly 2,000 of its Focus EVs, mostly during the past year.
