Chrysler’s recent rebirth is being welcomed by almost everyone within and out of the automotive industry. The tagline “Imported From Detroit” is just as strong as ever and new Chrysler LLC products are coming at us left and right. So much so that it is looking like the Mopar people are trying to please just about everyone, including the hot rod lover in all of us.
The New York Auto Show has proved that Chrysler’s own in-house tuning company, Street Racing Team (SRT) will be supplying the new for 2012 Chrysler 300 with their big dog Hemi, the 392. It will see 465 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, but it is still in the air as to when the Chrysler built 8 speed automatic will be backed behind this pushrod wonder. Expect this transmission to be on the road in 2013 or 2014, but the first 392 powered cars should be helped out by the previous 5 speed auto.
