Enzo Ferrari is one of the greatest automotive icons to ever grace this earth, and now one of the most storied actors of our generation is reportedly on board to play the legend on the silver screen; Robert De Niro has been cast to play Enzo Ferrari in a new biopic.
The story comes courtesy of an Italian publication Il Messaggero. Sadly, the Italian site has a pay wall, but British rag the Guardian was kind enough to pull out the details and share them. According the report, De Niro has agreed to play the founder of Ferrari in a new telling of the man’s life, and filming should start soon. Filming will take place mostly in Italy, and De Niro is quoted as saying this film has, “absolute priority over all my other projects.”
