To celebrate the 40th Birthday of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, the German brand is making a faster and more powerful special edition car! Dubbed the GTI Clubsport, this new model in the GTI family is the fastest and most powerful production GTI ever created. Visually, this anniversary GTI has new bumpers, side skirts, rear diffuser, wheels, roof spoiler and paint. Yeah, they changed quite a lot to make this thing stand out. The paint color is called Onyx White, and it is exclusive to the Clubsport, but you can choose any standard GTI color as well. If you get the Onyx White, the roof and the underside of the spoiler come painted in black.
Under the hood, the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine from the normal GTI has been fettled to make even more power. Horsepower is up 31 ponies to 260, and there is a special overboost function that will give you a ten-second boost in power up to nearly 290 horsepower.
Inside the seats are new and have sections of Alcantara. Alcantara trim also covers the steering wheel and shifter, and the seatbelts have new red trim to them.
