MINI has become quite the purveyor of concept cars in the recent years. With the Coupe, Roadster and Crossover Concepts (now called the Countryman) all becoming a reality, MINI has a habit of producing their concepts as well.
While one of its newer concepts, the Paceman, has yet to see a production line, MINI has already cooked up another iteration to the small car family – a cargo hauler. The new concept is called the MINI Clubvan Concept. As its name suggests (and as we reported earlier in the year) the new MINI is based on the Clubman.
To create a car that has all the visual styling of a MINI but all of the practicality of a cargo van, MINI has removed the second row of seats and covered the rear windows. The Clubvan Concept still retains the unique five-door layout of the Clubman, providing potential owners with multiple ways of storing and accessing cargo. The extra expanse of bodywork, where the windows used to be, creates a blank canvas for business owners to display their logos as well.
While a MINI cargo van may not be suitable for everyone, there is bound to be a market for a small fun-to-drive car with a large cargo potential.
