About 70 taxi drivers in Mexico have been driving the Nissan LEAF for the past year. It’s part of a pilot program Nissan launched in 2011 to showcase the car’s technology and capabilities.
There are 20 LEAF taxis in central Mexico City and another 50 in other surrounding areas. Those 70 taxis are said to prevent roughly three tons of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere every day. The program, cleverly called Zero Emissions Taxis, is further explained in the video below.
