It’s hard to believe Jeep could top last year’s Chief Concept. If you’re a fan of utility and vintage military vehicles or just have a hankering for something that looks like it could conquer anything in its path, you’ll agree that they’ve done it.
Designed as a tribute to the Kaiser Jeep M715 for the 50th annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, the Jeep Crew Chief 715 takes last year’s Chief, throws the removable hardtop out and puts a soft-top and five-foot pickup bed in its place. This changes the look and purpose of this Wrangler Unlimited-based concept in a way that will have military vehicle acolytes throwing money at Jeep willy-nilly if they produce this magnificent monster.
The Tactical Green beast, or better yet, B345T, as stenciled on the right rear bumper, is built to take on just about any trail you could encounter. Massive Dana 60 front and rear axles, a 4-inch lift, steel bumpers with winches, trick onboard compressor and 20-inch beadlock wheels give it the trail cred it needs. 40-inch military NDT tires take you right back to 1967 visually.
What better way to invade your local mud hole?
You’re not going to feel like you’re in some Vietnam-era troop hauler when you scramble up inside, though. Instead you’ll find comfortable leather and canvas seating for five, an analog compass the size of a grapefruit – in case your dashboard navigation system stops working – and a bunch of fighter plane-style toggle switches on top of the dash. All of this adds up to the perfect viewpoint for when you take over the world.
If they make the B345T into production, I will be the first inline to get one!!! Love it!!!
