The argument that nothing good can come from playing video games gets less powerful each year. First Nissan teamed up with Gran Turismo to turn couch racers in the Le Mans competitors, and now Mazda is giving gamers the keys to brand new cars. As part of the deal with bringing the new ND-generation Miata to Forza Horizon2, Mazda promised to give a new real-life rendition of the car to one lucky player.
In what was dubbed the MX-5 Challenger, players were tasked with flogging the new ND Miata around the Sisteron Perimeter Sprint Track, and the two players with the fastest times would be flown out to E3 to compete for the keys to the new car.
Of course, Mazda is a caring and giving company that spends much of its time and money on various charities and other generous events, and while two players arrived at E3 to compete for a new car, Mazda surprised everyone and gave a car to each of the competitors.
Now if you will excuse me, I need to go brush up on my lap times. The next time an opportunity like this arrives, I want to be prepared.
