Mazda has slowly been redefining its looks, moving away from the giddy smiling grills and moving towards the sharper look of the Kodo design language. The newest member to join this family is the seven-passenger CX-9.
The new design language debuted on the smaller CX-5 and has now spread to the Mazda6 sedan. The changes are only skin deep however. This is not a new model, but rather a mid-life face lift The drivetrain of the CX-9 remains unchanged and does not receive the benefits of the multiple Skyactiv technologies found on its siblings.
The new 2013 CX-9 takes on the look of a larger CX-5, but also comes with new equipment and options. A new audio system with 5.8-inch touchscreen, navigation by TomTom, Pandora connectivity and an SMS system are all pieces of the CX-9’s technological armory.
The new car should be arriving at dealers as you read this, so if you need a little bit of zoom-zoom in your life, and desire seating for seven, the CX-9 seems like a win.
