The Lexus ES is the best-selling luxury hybrid on the market, and Toyota wants to maintain that dominance. For 2016 there is a full visual refresh for the ES lineup and the 300H hybrid is part of that party. Out front you will find a new nose with a new version of the spindle grille, and new LED headlamps. New taillights will be found in the rear that are closer to the fancy “L” design found in the flagship LS sedan. There are also new 17-inch alloy wheels and four new paint colors.

Underneath the fancy new sheet metal, very little has changed for the ES 300H. You still get the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder motor and the same battery and electric motor hybrid system as before. Total power output sits at 200 partially electrified ponies.

Inside things remain mostly the same, but Lexus is adding a few new colors and combinations to keep things feeling fresh. The 2016 interior updates include the new Lexus Enform Remote system, Lexus Enform Connect, and the fancy Mark Levinson audio system is now available with all option packages.

If you already own a new Lexus ES 300H, there is very little here that will make you want to upgrade, but if you are looking to get into the luxury market and want a hybrid, there are much worse places to start.
