Each manufacture has to have a flagship; the kind of vehicle that embodies everything strong about their personal vision. For Kia, that car is the Optima SX Limited which works off of the popular midsize sedan’s platform to add some truly special bits and pieces. Topping the Optima range, the SX Limited is Kia’s current tour de force as it looks to promise reliability, efficiency, power, comfort and value all in a rather handsome package. No longer just a stage car, the 2013 Optima SX Limited has finally arrived at U.S. dealerships for all to see and more importantly, purchase.
Available for sale now, the big-dog Optima packs a lot of stuff into a car that is still reasonably priced. Included in the car’s $35,275 asking fee are every feature found on the previous top-tier trim, the SX, which includes such items as navigation, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, back up camera, panoramic sunroof and HID headlamps. Made exclusive for the Limited are features such as unique 18 inch wheels, red brake calipers, LED lighting, Nappa leather seating, wood grain trim and an exclusive electronic parking brake.
“With the arrival of the Optima SXL, the Kia brand propels itself into a more premium class, which is something consumers have told us they want to see when they walk into our showrooms,” said Tom Loveless, executive vice president of sales for Kia Motor America. Just like the SX Optima, the Limited uses the Hyundai-shared 2.0 liter direct injected turbocharged inline four cylinder engine. Helping put its 274 horsepower to the ground is a six speed automatic transmission with sport paddle shifters and a sport-tuned suspension. Able to burn tires and carve corners, the Optima SX Limited can also help cut down on a gas bill as up to 34 mpg can be averaged.
