The current generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the most deserving vehicles on the market today. Not only has it won numerous awards for its blend of on and offroad prowess, but the SUV was extremely responsible for Chrysler LLC’s resurgence. For the 2013 model year, the legend will earn a whole new trim and attitude that should do nothing more than continue the vehicle’s success. Born from a concept, the Trailhawk will feature new and exclusive items that should keep it solid no matter what the terrain.
“We introduced Grand Cherokee Trailhawk as a concept at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari earlier this year and it quickly drew rave reviews among enthusiasts,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO of Jeep Brand. Available for both the V6 Pentastar and V8 HEMI, the Trailhawk would easily be approved by both Mad Max and the Night Rider. Signature red litters the badging while tow hooks, black-surround headlamps and gray trim surrounding separate it from the rest. Equipment wise, the Trailhawk uses 18 inch Goodyear Silent Armor all terrains with Kevlar reinforcement, solid steel rock rail protection, Quadra-lift air suspension to supply up to 11 inches of ground clearance, Select-Terrain traction control, electronic rear limited slip differential and the Quadra-Track II or Quadra-Drive II (HEMI) two-speed transfer case. Basically, the Trawlhawk will find it difficult to get stuck.
Capability is one thing but the Trailhawk originated from the concept-car floor and thus, it looks the part. Laying on the muscular hood is a black decal with a red accent stripe. Not only does it look neat but it should help reduce glare which is welcome both off and on road. Inside, special black leather, performance suede, red accent stitching and Mopar slush floor mats will come with the package. The Trailhawk will be Jeep showrooms later this October.
