Two of the highest ranking automotive review and ratings outfits, AutoPacific and Intellichoice, have gotten together for the annual Motorist Choice Awards. In order to land on the recipients list, a vehicle must a certain level of high consumer satisfaction and lower-than-expected ownership costs. For the 2011 edition, Hyundai has been recognized for two of its cars: the Elantra compact and Genesis premium sedan.
Winning the Luxury Lifestyle (Genesis) and Value (Elantra) categories, this is the second year in a row that Hyundai has received a Motorist Choice Award. According to Intellichoice, people don’t want just a car that can appeal to their budget, but to their life as well. The vehicles on the list are the types of cars and trucks that drivers want to own and not just because the price is right. “The Motorist Choice Award methodology is designed to help consumers identify vehicles that speak to their hearts and their wallets,” said Tyler Schulze, vice president and general manager of IntelliChoice.
“With power and technology features rivaling more expensive vehicles in the luxury segment, Genesis is a great option for car buyers seeking quality and reliability,” said Scott Margason, director Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Additionally, with class-above interior volume and excellent 40 mpg highway fuel economy, Elantra certainly brings outstanding value to the mid-size segment.”
