The most compact Hyundai, the Accent, will soon be entering its second year of production and with that, a few trick changes will take place. Simply subtle, the 2013 model year will gain more standard features a few items previously absent. Fighting hard in an extremely crowded segment, the subcompact Accent will still achieve over 40 mpg, stay comfortable, reliable and most importantly, happy, for years on end.

New features for the 2013 model year include heated side view mirrors, remote keyless entry and cloth door inserts which are now standard on all trim levels. Other new items include turn signal side mirrors which are standard on the SE and a power sunroof which is optional for the SE. Still offered in three trims, the base GLS manual gains a few new standard features for 2013. Now included is air conditioning, satellite radio with CD/MP3 stereo, USB and iPod auxilary jacks, body-colored door handles and a sunglass holder. Just as before, all Accents are powered by the Ward’s 10 Best winning 1.6 liter Gamma four cylinder which can be paired with two six speed transmissions. Up to 40 mpg can be had with either the manual or automatic box while a class-leading 138 horsepower can actually induce smiles.
