Honda is doubling down on its various dual sport and adventure offerings. The Japanese company just announced the new Honda Africa Twin, and now they are back to announce that the VFR1200X Adventure is going to make the jump across the pond to the United States. That makes the fourth adventure model Honda has on offer for the US in 2016.
The new VFR Adventure is the largest and most powerful bike in the lineup. It is equipped with a 1,237cc V4 motor, and while I can’t find any published numbers for the US horsepower rating, the EU model produces 127 horsepower and 93 pound-feet of torque. The bike comes with standard with a manual transmission, but you can order Honda’s slick 6-speed dual-clutch unit if you prefer. Honda’s HSTC and ABS braking systems are standard on all models.
If you want to grab a piece of the VFR action, availability is scheduled to start in April of 2016, just in time for summer rides. Of course is the VFR1200X is a bit too much bike, the rest of Honda’s adventure lineup has the 1000cc Africa Twin, 700cc NC700X and the 500cc CB500X. Plenty of options for riders of all skill levels and size.
