Kings Toyota has opened a gigantic new car and truck showroom, thought to be the largest facility of its kind in the nation, at 4700 Fields Ertel Road. The multi-million dollar, 68,000 sq. ft. showroom has room to display 150 new Toyota and Scion vehicles in a perfect climate-controlled setting. No longer will customers have to endure unpleasant weather conditions when purchasing a new vehicle.

“We're very proud to offer such a unique and comfortable environment for our customers,” said Gerry Carmichael, general manager of Kings Toyota. “It adds value to their shopping experience when they're able to view and inspect a wide variety of products in such a pleasant setting.”

The new showroom is divided into four themed Toyota product areas: cars, SUVs, trucks and hybrids. Each features large high-definition plasma screens. There is also a special showroom area for Scion vehicles, as well as a large display area for accessories.

The showroom is so large that two automotive turntables, something usually reserved for auto shows, have been incorporated into the front display area.

There is a large customer lounge featuring a cafe offering Starbucks coffee, other refreshments and leather couches. The lounge area is highlighted by a custom water fountain featuring the Toyota logo. The showroom also has a children's area with video games. Wireless internet service is provided throughout the building and there are four computer- equipped stations for customer use.

Customers taking delivery of their new vehicles do so in a nine vehicle indoor delivery area.

“The indoor delivery area enables our sales associates to provide the customer with a detailed briefing on all the features of their new Toyota in a quiet, indoor setting,” Carmichael said.

The new Kings Toyota showroom is situated on a 5-acre site, which is directly in front of the former new car showroom. The older dealership showroom has been converted into a used vehicle showroom, and still houses the dealership's parts and service operations.

Kings Toyota has 123 employees and began operations in 1987. A grand opening celebration for the new showroom is planned from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 28.
