The eyewear device of Google, Google glass is nowadays facing bans in almost six states. Also in West Virginia, Illinois and New Jersey, these glasses are going get included in the list of banned gadgets while driving, Bloomberg News reports.
Google has been investing in this Google glass from a long time and it is expected that it will hit the great profit margins as the consumers can easily take picture, surf internet and can listen to music without using those smart phones. There have been researches done that shows that the glass is a lesser distraction than those smart phones.
The co-inventor of Wi-Fi, Richard Bennett who is also a visiting scholar at the Washington enterprise institute said that the ban on Google can limit the marketability of Google Glass.
Google has also hired lobbyists in various states and not only that, the application developers of Google have created applications for using glass through which they can monitor the speed, give directions and detect fatigue.
One of the spokesperson of Google California said that there is a political debate going on the company is doing their best to prove to policy makers that the glass is not dangerous. It is important here to mention that the ban bills are in their initial stages of the legislative procedure.
One of the spokesperson at New York DMV, Jackie McGinnis declared that the department has not decided yet the glass is a distraction or not.
