In recent history, the phrase “used car” has become synonymous with old and many manufactures have tried to change that with the phrase certified pre-owned. General Motors recently has officially joined the club by switching from Certified Used to Certified Pre-Owned. The name change also brings extra features to the program.
“Customers demand more value for their money, and we have responded,” said Jennifer Costabile, general director of marketing and sales support, GM Fleet and Commercial Operations. This value comes by way of a two-year or 30,000 mile complimentary standard maintenance program called Owner Care. At no cost to the owner, the system cover oil changes based on each vehicle’s Oil Life Monitor system, tire rotations, and multi-point vehicle inspections. Owner Care is added on top of the already 12 month or 12,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty as well the five-year or 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty for certified vehicles.
