General Motors has simplified pricing for its military discount program, reports The Detroit News.
The automaker said it has streamlined the discount, which can save active and reserve military thousands of dollars on new vehicles.
The military discount is cheaper than manufacturer’s suggested retail price. It is now the total model and options invoice price, plus destination fee and a $150 program fee.
GM said the discount amount varies by vehicle and is available on Chevrolet, Buick and GMCs, but not Cadillacs. GM said the military discount can be used with most incentives such as bonus cash, customer cash or trade-in allowance.
Customers also will get a two-year, 24,000 mile scheduled maintenance program if they buy a 2014 models.
The discount is available to members and reservists of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard, plus veterans within a year of their discharge. GM said retirees and spouses also are eligible.
