In its annual sustainability report, General Motors said it will cut emissions from its U.S. vehicles by 15% over the next three years, reports Detroit Free Press.

The automaker also said it plans to double the number of models that get at least 40 m.p.g. on the highway by 2017.

GM had reduced its global energy use by 7% since 2010, helped by the installation of solar panels at some plants, according to the report. The company has 105 facilities that recycle or reuse all of their waste, sending nothing to landfills.
