Alan Batey, interim chief marketing officer (CMO) at General Motors, is expected to be appointed as worldwide brand chief of Chevrolet, reports Detroit Free Press.

As interim CMO, Batey directed the creation of a new global tagline for Chevy called “Find New Roads.” Launched in February, the campaign replaced GM’s “Chevy Runs Deep” slogan, according to the publication.

Batey, who has been with GM since 1979, spent most of his time in GM’s foreign businesses until joining Chevrolet in 2010.

About two months ago, GM named Volkswagen veteran Tim Mahoney as global chief marketing officer for Chevrolet. He will continue to report to Batey.
