On June 20, workers at General Motors’ Transmission Operations plant in Warren, Mich., celebrated building their 2 millionth 6-speed transmission, reports Mlive.com.
The 6-speed 6T70/75 transmissions are built for the GMC Acadia and Terrain, Chevrolet Traverse and Equinox, Chevrolet Impala and Malibu, Buick Enclave, and the Cadillac XTS.
The Warren plant opened in 1941 and was purchased by GM in 1958.
In the celebration, GM Foundation presented $70,000 in grants to eight community organizations.
