General Motors has appointed Michael Dunne as new president for its Indonesian region, reports The Detroit News.

Dunne will oversee the company’s operations in Indonesia, including the Bekasi manufacturing facility.

Dunne is joining GM from Hong-Kong based auto consulting company Dunne & Co., which he started in 2010. He will succeed GM Indonesia President Marcos Purty, who after nearly three years in the country will take on a new job at GM beginning in 2014, according to newspaper.

The appointment became effective August 31.
