General Motors has named Cathy Clegg as vice president of North America manufacturing, reports Detroit Free Press.
The company focuses on improving the production launches of new vehicles in the walk of a record number of recalls.
Clegg, whose appointment is effective July 1, replacing Gerald Johnson who held the job for less than a year and has moved to vice president of operations excellence.
So far this year, GM has recalled more than 20 million vehicles, including 6 million for problems with ignitions or ignition keys.
