Former Vice Chairman for General Motors and overall car-guy Bob Lutz isn’t retired just yet. GM announced that they will keep him around as an advisor to the company’s senior leadership team. Effective immediately, Lutz will be available on a “part-time consultancy basis” and will work exclusively with GM upper-ups and executives.
Lutz has had a colorful history with the automotive industry. Known for saying what he thinks, the former chairman received controversy a few years ago after he said global warming was completely made-up. He has worked with major manufactures such as Ford, Chrysler and BMW where he was a senior executive. Lutz has also worked with GM twice and was largely responsible for such importation cars like the Pontiac Solstice and G8. With this recent announcement, it would appear that his supposed retirement in 2010 hasn’t entirely sunk in with the one and only Bob Lutz.
