General Motors has named Tony Cervone as senior vice president of GM global communications, reports Detroit Free Press.
Cervone will report directly to CEO Mary Barra. He left GM in February 2009.
Cervone was most recently executive vice president for Volkswagen Group of America. Between GM and Volkswagen, he served as senior vice president of global communications strategy and operations at United Airlines, where he helped the company navigate its merger with Continental Airlines.
