It should be pretty obvious by now that the number one thing I need to see to be excited about a booth at the 2015 LA Auto Show is a race car. Subaru did not disappoint by showcasing one of its WRX STI rally cars that is has been using to dominate US Rally this year. Aside from the race car though, Subaru also had something special for show goers, a brand new concept car.
Designed to preview the next Impreza, the completely unoriginally named Impreza Sedan Concept is a beautiful design concept. It takes a few key features like the new LED headlamp outlines and the angular grille from modern Subarus and it translates them into a new and athletic shape for the next generation Impreza.
Sadly, as pretty as this concept is, the production car won’t look anything like it. Subaru has been producing gorgeous and interesting concepts like the Hybrid Tourer, Viziv Concept, WRX Concept and even the last Impreza Desgin concept from 2011, and nothing Subaru has produced lived up to those visual promises.
That said, if there was ever a time to break from tradition and stick to a concept form, this is it, Subaru. This new Impreza sedan concept looks sporty, powerful, interesting and modern. It is everything a next-generation Subaru should be.
