...they can fix it....? Can I refuse the total loss estimate and demand my car be fixed? How does this work? I hit a deer and the front end of the car was pretty messed up. Anyone who can help me please respond. I want my car fixed!! It's only 5 years old. It's a Honda civic EX.

Most insurance companies will total a car if the repair cost is over 70 percent of the value of the car. You can always "buy" the car back from the insurance company but you will have a branded title. Makes it harder to sell. You can try to demand the repair but I dont know if they are required to do so. Depends on your state laws.
