I recently was given a 1989 Honda Accord, its automatic. It's still in good condition and everything. I just bought a new battery and two front tires for it.

The car came with an omni pad automotive security system in it too. Which I don't know the four digit code too, and the previous owner left for the military with no way of contacting him.

It also has the automatic shift lock so that you have to insert the key to switch out of park sometimes if it doesnt do it automaticly.

For some reason I can turn the car on and get it running but it wont shift out of park. I tried using the key for the automatic shift lock and that still doesnt help. The car turns on and everything, the light/ blinker/ etc. work but it just won't shift out of park.

So I have two questions;

1.) Does anyone know why it might not shift out of park? Is there something I should see is wrong? Am I not doing something right?

2.) Is there anyway to deactivate the omni pad security system so it doesnt
